Indy Mile 2009 Slideshow - Kenny Roberts and the Grand National Main

Definitely one of my favorite motorsports events to watch is dirt track racing. This year's Indy Mile did not disappoint, with all sorts of action and drama that is part of the territory of bikes reaching speeds of over 100mph with only a rear brake. Fans had additional treat of the King himself, Kenny Roberts, doing a few laps on his famed TZ750. Which, let me tell you, was amazing! Kenny sure put on a show. The slideshow below is a collection of my favorite photos I captured that night.... Enjoy!

Catching up from Indy MotoGP and the last AMA round at NJMP...

Hey everyone,

Still getting caught up on photos from Indy and New Jersey. What two very memorable weekends! And a lot of photos from both...

The Indy MotoGP round was very special. One of the highlights of the year for sure. Seeing KR ride that TZ750 was worth the trip itself. Then add to that getting to see Schwantz do a few laps on his 1993 World Championship RGV500 the very next day at the brickyard...it was definitely a top weekend.

I then headed home for a day before heading back east to New Jersey for the last AMA round and the last time we'd see Mat Mladin race in the AMA. It was a weekend of great racing and a good fan turnout at the new facility. But really puts a cap on the end of an era with Mat leaving the series and the old superbikes being gone.

Until i get a chance to upload the galleries from the two race weekends. Here's some desktops to hold you over... Enjoy!

Miller Time

It was a sort of homecoming weekend for Ben Spies coming back to the US for Round 7 of World Superbike. He was back in his old stomping grounds and followed the traditional theme of homecoming domination. Spies had the perfect weekend, continuing his pole streak and winning both races pretty convincingly. It was nice to have him back stateside and representing the US so well.

Although, my favorite moment of the weekend was watching Johhny Rea and Leon Haslam's battle in race two. Which ended not so well for Haslam who crashed on the last lap in the attitudes. The pass he put on Rea in the witching hour was worth the Battan Death March like hike from turn one.

It was so much fun watching him fight for that 3rd spot on the box.... hated to see him go off into the dust. But here is my favorite photo from the weekend...

Catching up....

So like I feared, I started this blog after Daytona and well...here we are in august and I haven't posted anything since. I have a whole lot of catching up to do! Over the next few weeks i'll be posting galleries from the previous race weekends and a few tidbits here and there. I am determined to be a better blogger. :)

To start things off...Here is my featured slideshow from the Laguna Seca USGP. Figured if I'm gonna kick things off, might as well kick it off in style with Moto GP.
